So much going on this month, it's hard to know where to start. First things first, our November book, Doomed Planet by Lee Sheldon has arrived. It's a light and dare we say pulpy 1960s outing by Lee Sheldon, better known as C. Wayne Lee, a prolific and interesting writer, whose only scifi novel has been before now better remembered for its iconic original cover artwork than for its text, and which hasn't been re-released since its original publication. Doomed Planet is a great example of the type of work we set out to help remember; it's something that may not have made it to the future without our help, and we hope you'll enjoy it's campy fun, and the spectacular cover artwork created for it by Wesley Allsbrook.
Next month's book, a "what-if" alternative history/time travel tale, was an award winner and best seller upon its original release in 1984. We're really looking forward to bringing it to you. Now that we're starting to figure out the nuts and bolts of this adventure (quite literally in some respects), we're getting down to the business of trying to track down and work on books suggested by you, our subscribers, and with the traction we've gained over the past few months, we anticipate great success in 2013.
Perhaps the thing we're most proud of this month is the launch of ScifiBooks.com, our new online shop for Singularity&Co. t-shirts, totes, awesomeness, and most importantly, hand picked vintage SciFi, Fantasy and Pulp. ScifiBooks.com is a way for those of you that can't make it to our shop in Brooklyn to get some of the best of what we have to offer. It has already been featured on BoingBoing, and after 4 days, seems to be a hit.
The books we're offering for sale online (Choose Your Own Adventure, anyone?) are specially selected from what we have for sale in the shop, so that you can get excellent condition vintage pulp goodness from anywhere in the world.
By popular demand, we're also offering gift subscriptions to S&Co, at discounted rates for the holidays. You can order and redeem them online, or you can choose to have us mail a gift card made from the cover of a Vintage Pulp book that had otherwise reached the end of its life.
Either way it's the perfect gift for your scifi fan friend friend or loved one.
We couldn't do any of this without you all. Than you for making this as much fun for us as we hope it is for you!
